Reproduction FAQ'S...

When should I give my dog the herpes vaccine? It is recommended that the first vaccine can be given either during the heat or 7-10 days post mating and the second vaccine be given 1-2 weeks prior to the suspected whelping date.

When should I have a pregnancy scan done on my dog? It is recommended to wait until 4 weeks of gestation onwards before having the initial scan.

Why should my dog have a semen analysis done? A semen analysis will ensure the stud dog is fertile prior to mating by checking the quality of the semen.

What are the benefits of doing AI? > AI can sometimes help to reduce the difficulties witnessed with natural matings, such as nervousness and inexperience. > Matings can be possible even if the stud dog resides in a different country.

When will I receive my dog's progesterone result? We can email or phone you with your pet's progesterone result within 1-2 hours from the time of testing.
